On Location in San Francisco - 4-28-14

I bought another one of my dream cars a few weeks ago, a 2004 BMW M3. I really like the car. It's a combination of performance, luxury and comfort, with all kinds of cool high-tech features. I started thinking that I like it more than my Porsche 911 Carrera. My garage is getting a little crowded, so I thought I would let the Porsche go. Life is rough. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but I put it up for sale on craigslist last week.  The next day I got a call from the transportation coordinator of a movie production company who wanted to use it for the lead actor's car in a made-for-TV movie that was going to be shooting in San Francisco. The movie is a romantic comedy called Recipe For Love. The director is Ron Oliver. The producer is Kevin Leslie. The lead actors are Shawn Roberts and Danielle Panabaker. It will be shown on the Hallmark cable TV channel around October 2014.

Wow! What are the odds of that happening, and my car being chosen? They told me a black Porsche just like mine was used in the Vancouver shoots.
At first I thought it was a scam, so before I agreed to do it, I did some research on him, the director and actors, and they all checked out.  They all have many credits on the International Movie Database.

My friend Gil and I drove down early Monday morning and spent the day at several shoot locations in San Francisco.
The director, producer, lead actor and actress, and crew were really nice and were happy to have us there. We ended up helping them shoot several scenes whenever they needed it.  It was really interesting to be there behind-the-scenes to watch how the movie is made, how they record the audio and video, and how they shoot the different scenes from different camera angles.  The movie is supposed to be taking place in San Francisco, but about 90% of it has already been shot in Vancouver, BC. They just needed some clips of the city and its beautiful landmarks.
We had a great time, and it is a day we won't soon forget.  Although we won't be seen in the movie, my car will be.

We took lots of photos.  Here are the best ones.
